“FLUX” - Bach to video games

  • Presbyterian Church 425 Spring Street Friday Harbor United States (map)

Music flows from Bach’s time to the contemporary video game.  Our program will start with Bach’s magnificent “Magnificat”, one of his most festive and energetic pieces, and then flow into the music of some of today’s composers, such as “Dirait-on” by Morten Lauridsen and “Pilgrims’ Hymn” by Stephen Paulus.  You will hear shrieks and howls in “Haunted Houses” paired with “Ghostbusters”, sung by NovaStella, our youth chorus.  NovaStella will perform additional songs to strings, drums and mandolin accompaniment, and both NovaStella and the Chorale, accompanied again by orchestra, will bring the concert to a grand finale with “Baba Yetu”, taken directly from video game fame.

Doors will open at approximately 2:20 pm for the 3:00 pm performance at Friday Harbor Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 16th.  Admittance is complimentary but donations are warmly welcome.  See you there!

San Juan Master Chorale concerts are presented as a gift to the community for donations only. Donation options at the Spring Concert include cash, check and credit card. For more information, contact sjmasterchorale@gmail.com.
